Preparing for Arrival of No. 3 - Checklist of Purchases

Seems that Hospital Bag Essential check list is a long list with lots of unnecessary items... haha... we should see if this is just as bad as that.

Baby's Room

Baby's Cot
- Wind up mobiles (passed down by Angeline)
- Mattress (passed down by Angeline)
- Blanket (passed down by Angeline)
- Bumper (passed down by Angeline)
- Cot sheets (passed down by Angeline)
- Mattress protector (not necessary, right?)

Changing Table (Optional)

Chest of Drawers (having a cupboard for her)

Clothes
- Pacifiers (bought)
- Mittens (bought 2 pairs and will dig out Angeline's)
- Bootees (bought 2 pairs and will dig out Angeline's)
- Nappy (dun think will use that)
- Nappy liners (will have to decide later)
- Cotton buds (bought)
- Blouse / shirts - long and short sleeves (bought 2 pairs and will dig out Angeline's)
- Suits - pants and long shirt (bought 2 pairs and will dig out Angeline's)
- Handkerchief (have to go market to look look see see)
- Safety pins (not necessary)
- Face towels (same as handkerchief?)

Cotton balls (bought)

Nail Clippers (bought)

Cream to prevent nappy rash (bought)

Oil for wind (bought)

Ziplock to store soiled pampers or nappies (not necessary)

Gripe water (not necessary)

Baby Bathing
- Wipes (buying soon)
- Baby bath tub (sharing with Angeline)
- Bath mat (sharing with Angeline)
- Bath towel (buying soon)
- Bath sponge (not necessary)
- Baby soap / bath lotion / shampoo (sharing with Angeline)
- Cotton buds (bought)
- Baby Oil (bought)
- Baby powder with puff (bought)
- Tissue paper (got supply at home)
- Diapers (need to buy more - bought 1 pack of Huggies Ultra NB only)

Care of Umbilical Cord Stump
- Sterile swab applicators (cotton buds can?)
- Sterile cotton swabs (cotton wool can?)
- Sterile container for cord spirit (optional)
- Cord spirit (may not be given by hospital)

Feeding Baby
- Milk bottles and small size teats (bought 2 tiny bottles for her)
- Bottle scrub brush (shared with Angeline)
- Warmer cum carrier bag (not necessary - thanks to nursing rooms available everywhere)
- Thermometer (household necessity)
- Large pan / pot (for sterilising) (using whatever at home)
- Tongs (to handle hot bottles) (not necessary, can use chopsticks)
- 6 bottle electric steam steriliser (waste $$, electrical bills going up every month liao)
- Milk container (can share with Angeline)

Accessories
- Playpen (too young)
- Walker (passed down by Angeline)
- Stairgates (no stair at home - haha)
- Rubber protectors (more for Angeline than baby)
- High chair (huh... Angeline is using one now and not baby's turn yet)
- Bouncers (what's that?)
- Stroller (shared with Angeline)
- Baby carrier (dunno whether to buy or not)
- Pram (Stroller and Pram??? What's the diff?)

Toys & Playstuff
- Rattle (too young)
- Mirror (too young - maybe Angeline will need another mirror)
- Baby gym (ehhhhhh.... maybe yes maybe no..... see first)

Mummy care
- Maternity Dress / Pyjamas with front opening for breast feeding (so troublesome??)
- Breast cream (see first)
- Cotton ball (bought)
- Nursing pads (depends)
- Disposable panties (ehhhhh. see first)
- Sanitary pads (DEFINATELY! SUPER SUPER CAN ABSORB ONE!)
- Bedrooms slippers (have one at home)
- Breast pump (Yee sien is passing hers to me)

Other optional items
- Electrical flask (Who doesn't have one at home)
- Claypot or double boil claypot for mum's confinement soup (of cos have one at home lah)
