Goodbye 2010 and Hello 2011

2010 is coming to an end and we are going to welcome 2011 in another 13 days. What are the resolutions you have made for 2010 and have you fulfil what you wanted to complete in 2010?

Quite disappointed with myself. Here I am still in the same company, getting additonal workload, getting slightly higher salary after going through a major retrenchment exercise.

During the major retrenchment exercise, I realised that my colleagues located in different countries have worked here for most of their lives and they got retrenched as because we are closing those markets. To be frank, I was quite worried that I was in the retrenchment list.

Not too sure if I should consider myself lucky or unlucky to stay behind. Lucky could mean that I still maintain a job; unlucky meaning more job responsibilities waiting for me.

After this exercise, yes, my work load is heavier than before. I have to learn new things, taking up more responsibilities and also having to stay back in office more often than before.

Am I happy? Yes and No. It's always good to learn more in the course of work. But taking more responsibilities and heavier work load.... really got to depend on situations and also what kind of s**tty stuff I have to handle.

I do hope that everyone has completed whatever you have set for yourself in year 2010. We should prepare ourselves for Year 2011.

Aaron Kwok De Show Reel World Tour Encore Live in Singapore

今天跟往常的礼拜五一样。照常去上班、照常有很多很多工作要完成。不过在中午吃饭时却收到一个我想不到的礼物。那就是郭富城演唱回的入门票！！！真是很惊讶！！也好开心啊！！今天早上还在考虑是否要买两张票。。谁知道我的体贴老公却舍得买两张最贵的门票给我做母亲节礼物。真感动啊！

这个意外又惊喜的礼物让我决得礼拜五是快乐的，繁忙的工作也没有关系！好希望6点钟可以快点到来。

郭富城始终还是有魅力-真不愧是四大天王之一。到了现场发现已有人在等候了！才1830有好多fans以等候多时了。

看看周围，发现大多数的fans都和我们差不多的年龄。应该可以猜到他们也是被郭富城的成名曲-＂对你爱不完＂和当时的蘑菇发型给吸引了。我也是被这首歌和发型给深深的吸引了。别忘了还有他的精湛舞蹈。

演唱回一开始，整个新加坡室内体育场里充满了欢呼和尖叫声。每个人都挥着手上的荧光棒，让整个现场都亮起来！好美啊！

最精彩的是他可以站在旋转舞台上劲歌热舞。真佩服郭富城的表演。450度旋转舞台应该是世上第一个。它的变化就像transformer一样。

要不是自己看了这场演唱会，真的不可能体会我朋友去年看过郭富城演唱会的兴奋。

Regi's first day of reservist 8 feb 2010

Today is the first day of torture for me..... Going to work myself using public transport. I am not a little princess neither am I a spoiled brat. It's just about waking up EXTRA early and fighting for a seat on the bus or train.

This morning decided to take a bus instead of train so that I can sleep throughout the 1 hour journey and yes, I was sleeping thru the whole journey. Haha....

But this is not the main thing, it's about Angeline. We always thought that to her, papa is someone for her to bully around, we are WRONG!!!

After today, I realized that papa is so important to her and she really misses papa very much. When she woke up this morning at 645am and realized that papa went out already and papa never wake her up to say bye bye to her, she was very unhappy.

And she also started to realize that papa is not coming back today cos he's staying in camp. That's the funny thing, it's not papa's first time to stay in camp but somehow this time round, it affects her badly.

When I called her this afternoon, she kept asking me "why papa never wake me up and say bye bye to me?" and when I told her that papa was rushing to go to camp cos papa was late. She kept quiet and I can tell that her voice was breaking when she talked to me.

In the late afternoon, papa called her and she kept asking "papa, why you never come home today?"....

By the time I came back after work, she was so happy to see me but I can tell that she is disappointed that papa was not with me. While telling papa "good night... 我爱你...." over the phone, her nose turned red and eyes became watery. And she started tearing. Anything that associated with papa - watering the plants, feeding the fish will bring tears to her eyes.

The worst part came when I sent her to bed with me. She started sobbing to herself. And when I asked her why is she crying.... She asked me "why so late papa not home yet?". She was still waiting for papa to come back at this point.

I explained to her that papa needs to stay in camp cos papa is going for exercise early in the morning. But that doesn't stop her tears from falling down her cheeks...

I told her papa will try to come back to see her if papa has the time tomorrow evening but nothing is confirmed. And papa will be back on Thursday afternoon if papa passes his exam tomorrow. Still doesn't help. Tears still flow down her cheeks without control. No matter how I pamper her, talk to her, distract her, nothing helps.

Until she asked me for papa's t-shirt. I asked her why she wants papa's t-shirt, she replied "papa can protect me". She kept smelling papa's t-shirt for papa's smell. And she wanted me to remind the maid not to wash this t-shirt cos she is going to hug it to sleep every night til papa is back from camp. This will be her
'臭臭' when she goes to sleep every night.

No matter how Angeline treats papa on any days, from this reservist, it just show how much she loves her papa and how much she misses her papa.

写blog是为了发泄吗？我不知道，不过对我而言，我可以把我的心思写出来。

我觉得做人越老越烦，越烦就越累。

工作不顺，孩子不听话，老公不体谅。我就是觉得做什么都不顺，做什么都是错的。

到现在我们还是处在financial crisis当中，也不知道我们的经济会何时会go towards the positive direction. It seems that no one dares to say that this year will be the turning point. Not even the economists dare to make this commitment.

每个公司都采取retrenchment, pay cut, shut down days, and even extending shutting down their offices in other locations other than the main. No job security, no prospect, nothing to look forward to at work now.

能做的就是安分守己，做好份内的事，每个月就等月底，拿了薪水，交every billings that never seems to disappear from the stupid letter box. And then we are back to the cycle again, work and get paid... work and get paid. Damn it!

When is this stupid crisis going to end? 2010 or 2011? I think if this continues, we are not going to be able to buy bling bling, but we are going to have a bleak future. Sucks right?

I am just fed up with life in general! Need to vent my anger somewhere before I really blow up.

The girl in the picture is Katie Kirkpatrick, she is 21. Next to her, her fiancé, Nick, 23.

The picture was taken shortly before their wedding ceremony, held on January 11, 2005 in the US.

Katie has termi nal cancer and spend hours a day receiving medication.

In the picture, Nick is waiting for her on one of the many sessions of quimo to end.

In spite of all the pain, organ failures, and morphine shots, Katie is going along with her wedding and took care of every detail. The dress had to be adjusted a few times due to her constant weight loss.

An unusual accessory at the party was the oxygen tube that ketie used throughout the ceremony and reception as well.

The other couple in the pictur e are Nick's parents. Excited to see her son marrying his high school sweetheart.

Katie died five days after her wedding day. Watching a women so ill and weak getting married and with a smile on her face makes us think..... Happiness is reachable, no matter how long it last. We should stop making our lives complicated.

Angeline's 5th day of school - 9 Jan 09

Today is the last day of the week and also last school day for Angeline. This morning she struggled to go to school... again.. Cried and cried when she was in the class but the teacher told me that she stopped crying after a while. I was so relieved cos I was so worried for her.

I have a talk with her teacher after school. Understand that she vomitted after her tea break but overall she is a good girl. Though she cries at the initial stage, she will stop her crying after 10minutes or so.

This whole week is a new experiment for Angeline, Daddy and Mummy. It's a new start for Angeline, another stage of her growing up phase. I do hope that next week will be better. I am going back to work on 12 Jan 09 and I do hope that everything is going to be fine.

Today is the first day Angeline went to school officially without us inside the class. Quite worried and unsure if she is able to handle the "stress". Haha....

Before school feeling : Kept asking "Mummy, go in with me??"

No before school photo as I forgot to buy batteries for the camera. When I brought her to school, she insisted that I have to go in with her. I held her hand and we walked in together. She put down her water bottle and took off her shoes herself but when she went to wash her hands (daily activity), I quickly left the room.

I can still hear her crying when I was outside the class. But no choice, she has to learn how to go into the class herself.

Today will be the last day for the school to allow parents in the class. Wonder if she will alright....

Before school feeling : Not very happy or rather worried. Not too sure. But kept asking me : Mummy go in with me??

I was in class with her for the 1 hour. She seems alright in school and teacher even praised her. She helped teacher by keeping the chairs after her art & craft class, helped teacher to put up the art work on the wall and even helped to keep the toys that others played.

Today is the 2nd day of school, Daddy and Uncle William went back to work already so it's left with Mummy and Angeline only.

Before school feeling : Very happy when she woke up. Asking Auntie Clarence to quickly shower her and dressed her in her uniform

Taken outside her bedroom. She was so "kan cheong" to go school. She looked so happy.

I followed her to class today. Managed to get her to pay attention to teacher. But she doesn't seem to blend in with the class. Doesn't play with her classmates at all.

Teacher taught them to sing the Welcome song and they sang happy birthday song to a classmate. After that, teacher read them a book and it's Arts and Craft time again. Today they did pasting of triangle.

When I see that she was engrossed in her art work, I left the room quietly. I didn't hear any crying from outside. Glad that she was okay.

Angeline's First Day of School - 5 Jan 09

Finally, it's the "BIG" day for Angeline. Daddy was so nervous the night before and kept asking if anyone will bully Angeline or not. On my side, I was so positive that she will be happy to go to school.

However, I do have my share of worries - I wondered if she can really get used to school, is she able to communicate to the teachers and friends, will she be happy in school and the list goes on and on....

Daddy, Mummy and Uncle William took leave to accompany her to school today. School is from 10am to 11am for today.

Before school feeling : Happy when she woke up. Wanted to wear her uniform and school shoes asap.

When she was walking to school, she was so happy and kept running to the direction of school. Once she reached the school gate, she became nervous and started biting her finger ~ first sign of nervousness.

When it's time to go into the class, she started to give me a very sad face. I told her "don't worry, Mummy will be waiting for you outside at the door" but it's useless!!!

In the end, I told her "Daddy will go in with you, ok?" She was so happy when she heard this and Daddy went with her to attend an hour of lesson.

Daddy commented that she was alright in class but she was not paying attention to what the teacher was teaching. Throughout the class, she kept looking at Daddy and make sure that Daddy is still around.

But she enjoyed her Art & Craft - hand printing on paper plate.

Arrival of baby Ashlyn

Finally it's my turn to write my labour story....

Made an appointment to see my gynae, Dr Benjamin Tham on 1st Sept 08 at 1155am. Waited till 1pm to see him at his clinic.

Did a check on me and said that everything is alright with baby so I asked if I can be induced anytime cos I am feeling very sick. Backache with pain at tailbone, tummy feeling cramps but not regular contraction, with episodes of dizziness.

He told me that since I am over 38 weeks already therefore if I really wanted to induce labour, he’s ok with this decision. So he asked if I wanted to induce labour on the same day. We were so shocked by this suggestion – we were waiting for this day to happen but never expected to be on the same day.

We agreed and went to pick a time to induce labour and we finally decided to come back to KKH at 6pm.

We brought the kids out for lunch and headed home to get prepared. After taking the hospital bag, we still have time to write some emails and go online to play some games to relax ourselves.

5.00pm
Reached KKH but was early therefore went to Kopitiam to get some food.

530pm
Got to Delivery Suite to “report”. Was told that they are going to give me Pitocin instead of breaking my water bag.

I was thinking that if I am given Pitocin then it’s going to be a long wait. I was told that after the first pill, I will be waiting in the ward until I have contraction. In the next few hours, if no contraction, a second pill will be given to me with the maximum of 3 pills.

6.00pm
At this point of time, I was like “HUH!!!?? Waiting game again…. But not given any choice. But when the nurse checked my dilation, I was glad that I was 3cm dilated and after confirmation with my gynae, I was told that instead of this arrangement, I will be induced by breaking the water bag. YES!!! We were so happy after hearing this.

7.30pm
Doctor on duty came by to see me and decided that it’s time to break my water bag. So out came the water but no pain…. Waited and waited ….. slight contraction started coming after 830pm.

8.30pm
Midwife came and checked on me… only 4-5cm dilated. Water is low and contraction is regular but not intense enough. Waited and waited again.. Managed to joke around with my hubby and watched the TV while waiting. Hubby went to get his dinner before my contraction got regular and stronger.

9.30pm
Contraction became regular and more intense but still can tahan…. Dilation is only 5cm. Still a long way to go but midwife did informed us that as this is the 3rd child, dilation can be fast and labour can start anytime so she prepared everything just in case things got too fast.

10.30pm
Contraction became VERY intense. For someone that doesn’t have any idea what is contraction all about, this is very scary. I didn’t expect that contraction can be so painful and so unbearable.

I have to use the “laughing gas” as pain relief. My hubby had to stand by my side to hold on to my hand to support me. By then, I was crying to myself cos the pain is so intense that I feel that the baby is pushing herself out.

But the midwife told me that I was only 7cm dilated therefore I can’t push. Therefore I dared not open up my leg at all just in case the baby came out naturally…

11.00pm
At this point of time, I went “MAD”….due to pain. I wanted epidural (for the first time and for my last pregnancy) but with 7cm dilation and I can’t keep still, the doctor in charge hesitated to give me that shot at the spine.

11.15pm
Midwife said she can feel that head of the baby already so everyone is the ward started to panic. I started to dilate very fast and I went crazy… I was screaming in the labour ward like no body business due to the pain.

By 11.30pm, baby Ashlyn is out to see the world. I was lucky enough that there was no tear therefore no stitching is required.

Regular visit to Gynae

From this week onwards, I will have to visit my gynae on a weekly basis. Was praying very hard that I can get approval to induce pregnancy on 16 Aug 08. It happens to be my 36th weeks and it's Regi's birthday too. But too bad, Dr Tham said that baby is still very tiny - 2.2kg now therefore not advisable to induce unless I want to see her in NICU.

Which parents would want their baby to stay in NICU for 2 weeks before discharge?? Although I am having all the difficult times in carrying her, I will have to "tahan" for another 2 more weeks to make sure that she is of standard weight then she can come home with me on the same day.

All parents hope and pray hard that baby will come out healthy. Me too... so no matter what happen, I will have to endure all the pains that I am experiencing now. By the way, I think me having pre-natal blues too. Sleepless nights since I am on medication to control contraction. I kept having negative thoughts and horrible (maybe scary) dreams too. Am I mad or normal?

I do hope that from today onwards, me off the medication and I can sleep better too. Was given some flu medication so that I can sleep better at night. Hopefully this medication can help me get some sleep without any dreams or rather nightmare.

Here are some information on the baby from MumCentre Singapore:
Month 8
- She is about 30cm in length
- Close to 2kg in weight
- May settle into birthing position with head down
- Will be able to survive if delivered now

Month 9
- Fully developed by end of the month
- May weigh about 3kg
- Should be head down by now and positioned close to cervical opening with feet up under breastbone
- Bones in the head are sofy and flexible to allow passage through vagina during delivery
- May have longer periods of inactivity due to cramped space
- Organs and body systems are maturing and ready to function on their own

I was about 53kg before pregnancy and currently (as of today) 67kg - ADDITIONAL OF 14KG already... oh no.. how am I going to lose all the weight after delivery???

A Trip to Botanic Garden

We went to Botanic Garden on 8 June 08... It's an interesting place to visit. We had a walk around the garden, took some pictures and enjoyed a peaceful afternoon at this place.

Look at this ... a hole in a tree. I doubt we can see this kind of tree in our parks.

Look at the aloe vera. It's so big!

These are frangipani trees. Look at the branches - they look like trees from the fairy tales! That's my brother, William, posing! Welcome to my Enchanted Garden!

There's a story behind this tree - The story of 100 year old Giant.

"On one stormy day in 202, a giant tree at Singapore Botanic Gardens was struck by lightning. It slowly died. In memory of this majestic giant, the trunk was conserved. It was moved here in 2007. Around the trunk are parts of large roots from other tropical trees. These are arranged to create an area for hide and seek".

Hide and seek?? I doubt so. I think it's more for the elves? Dwarfs??

Spending a weekend at this garden is something different from the places that we went to with the kids. Not so crowded... no shopping, no noisy music, etc.. just trees, plants and families with kids.

After walking around for some time, we had a rest at the cafe at the garden entrance. Look at this pair - Angeline taking her drinks while Regi looks so tired. Haha.

Pregnancy Journal Part 5

Just went to Motherhood Fair 2008 yesterday. Bought a set of pyjamas for my girl and some clothes for my new baby... hehe.. was so excited buying all those tiny clothes. There are very cute and when I came back with my purchases, my girl is also very excited with them.

I think she is as excited as us now. But I am not too sure if she will get jealous over the new additional family member. Just hope that she will be able to treat the new member well and not be jealous over her.

Me starting to count down to my due date - 12 Sept 2008, another 3 months to go. YEAH.. my baby is getting "naughty" - doesn't let me sleep and rest properly especially at night. Her kicks are getting stronger and my tummy is not as big as what she wanted. Hehe... :)

I am very curious how does she look like.. will she look like me or Regi??? But I think as long as she is healthy, I should be contented and happy. I think even my colleagues are getting nervous over my growing tummy. They are getting prepared for my delivery in case I deliver in office as I have the intention to work til my due date is near.

I am not too sure if this is the right choice. Cos I don't want to waste my maternity leave but I also want to take some time off before my delivery to accompany my girl before my little little girl is out. Any advice?

I will post my pregnancy photos soon online. I do hope that I can lose my weight after my delivery as soon as possible. Otherwise I will have to work hard to lose those weight before I go back to work. Hehe. Btw, me not taking many pictures for this pregnancy. Refused to accept the fact that my body is so FAT! Haha...

Pregnancy Journal Part 4

It's the 5th month of the pregnancy, I am left with only 5 months to go.... I am so happy. Went for a detailed ultrasound scan on 21 April 08. Baby was so comfortable in the tummy that she didn't want to wake up at all during the scan therefore the whole scanning process took me more than 1 hour to complete. Haha... Everything went smoothly except that she doesn't want to turn around for the doctor to see her spine. So in the end, we end up talking to her through my tummy...

Guess what, I told her that she better turn herself around so that we can take a picture of her spine otherwise Daddy and Mummy are not going shopping for her clothes... then she starts turning herself around (a bit only lah). So funny... it shows all women like to shop for clothes and that applies to babies in the tummy too.

Forget to tell everyone who read my blog... I am going to have another princess. Hopefully she will be as cute as my little Angeline. Talking about Angeline, I was so surprised that she loves babies so much. My sister in law just gave birth to a baby girl in March and when Angeline saw her for the first time in the hospital, she kept telling me how the baby cries, how the baby sucks and eats her hand, etc. And whenever we meet up with the baby, she will always be around with the baby. For eg. when the baby cries, she will rush to the diaper bag to take her pacifier for her, when we said that baby needs to change her diapers, she will rush out for diaper, etc.

When my mum is feeding the baby, she will be there to "supervise" her, making sure that my mum will turn the milk bottle so that the baby can drink her milk. Haha... this is not what I expect from a 2 years old girl. I do hope that this behaviour will remain so that she will care and love her little sister and not jealous over her.

Coming back to my pregancy, my gynae advised me to take a blood test to test for Down Sydrome. I wonder why is there a sudden need for me to take this blood test after my detailed scan result is out. Is there something wrong with my baby? I do hope that nothing will go wrong with her. I got so worried that I was having nightmares during the night. I kept wondering what if something is wrong, what if....... so many questions in my mind.

When I asked my female colleagues, they told me that it's a normal practice for gynaes to ask for this test, as a precaution measure only. So nothing to worry about at all. But somehow I feel so worried, scared and I can't do anything at all. I will know the result only in 3 weeks time (my next appt with my gynae). I really have no idea how am I going to go through these 3 weeks.

Just take it easy to make things easier for me or to call up hospital to ask for report in one week time? I have no idea at all. Just pray hard that my baby will be fine in my tummy and when she is out to see the world. I believe that she will grow up to be a good girl just like Angeline.

Pregnancy Journal Part 3

As my tummy grows bigger, I have lesser clothes to wear to office. This morning, I tried to put on my favorite jeans but it can't fit me at all already.

Every day, I got to stand in front of my wardrobe and start thinking what to wear. Though it's only 16 - 17 weeks, but my tummy looks so big. I feel like a pig now. A pig that can't wear presentable clothes, a pig who eats non stop, a pig that sleeps alot too..... :(

I wonder how am I going to go through the rest of the weeks and months. Even if I start to count down now, I think I will die from that. If I am not wrong, I have another 160 days more. Sucks!!!

160 days is about 5 more months to go... At this rate that I am going, I doubt I can continue walking like a normal person by the time I am 6-7 months pregnant. Luckily this pregnancy is going to be my last one and after delivery, I will concentrate on getting back to my normal size before i go back to work. I can't imagine if my colleagues start telling me that I still look pregnant!!!!!!!!

Have to start planning for my colleagues what to do in times of emergency. Maybe I can start shopping for baby stuff... again? It's a tiring and expensive shopping trip lor. Maybe should start asking arounf for babt stuff first before I spend money buying them. Baby stuff is NEVER CHEAP!

Pregnancy Journal Part 2

It seems a long time since I logged in to write about myself. I am currently 16 weeks now and the baby is growing very well.

For the past 2 weeks, hubby went for reservist and I am all alone. Very bored and tiring for me. No one to talk to after the kids are asleep, no one to watch tv with, etc.... Having to take a train to and fro is very tiring for someone that faints easily... haha..

During these 2 weeks, I fainted once at Yio Chu Kang train station in the morning and nearly fainted at Yishun station in the evening. Doctor has warned me about my low blood pressure and i didn't know that it's so low til I had tummy pain last Friday.

Was supposed to see gynae on 31 Mar 08 but because of tummy pain, I asked to see the gynae earlier on 27 Mar 08. To my surprise, my gynae was telling that my blood pressure is about 95 / 58 which is on the lower side and my baby is very low for this pregnancy.

Baby is normally lower during the last term of pregnancy but due to 3rd pregnancy plus dunno what, my baby is considered very low at this stage of pregnancy. That means there's a risk of miscarriage at any time. Some people will be asked to rest in bed for the rest of the term but my gynae said that it's ok for me to continue to work as long as no stress, no standing and sitting for long period of time, and if I spot any abnormalities - bleeding, tummy pain, etc. to go to hospital to see him immediately.

I think I should be alright. I saw my baby sucking his / her thumb in the scan.. Very cute. Although I have no idea if this is going to be a boy or girl, how he / she looks like, I wish and pray hard that the baby will be born healthy.

I will be going to see my gynae by end of April. By then, I should be able to know if it's going to be a boy or girl. Just pray that everything goes smoothly for both of us.

I have a feeling that something is wrong with me. Feeling so bloated for no reason recently. Went to get another test kit from Watson's. FAINT LINE! What does that mean? Pregnant or not pregnant?? Dare not confirm anything yet.

Checked with Human Resource on maternity benefits in case I am really pregnant. But was told that maybe no benefits for contract staff. Very disappointed. But wrote an email to MOM for advice so now waiting for reply.

Went to company doctor for confirmation of pregnancy. Was told by GP that the line is too faint to confirm pregnancy. Therefore she concluded NEGATIVE! Was a bit disappointed by that result. Hubby was quite disappointed too cos he told his colleagues the "good" news already.

But feeling is strong so we believe that I am pregnant and decided to try another kit as I was having all the symptoms - nauseam dizziness, etc.

Down with fever and pain near tummy area. I had an operation before to remove my ovarian cyst last year so I thought.. Oh no... I am getting the cyst again. Didn't go to work today. Went to see GP immediately in case I kena the cyst again.

Told GP about my discomfort and I have missed my menses (last menses 3 Dec 07). He asked if I am pregnant but I told him my company doctor did a test for me yesterday and it's was NEGATIVE. But he didn't believe so he insisted I do the urine test again.

Faint line (the same as company doctor) but this time round, GP congratulates me, saying that it's POSITIVE = PREGNANT! So he gave me some vitamins and folic acid to take and advise me to see my gynae as soon as possible.

Both hubby and I decided to spend money on the last test kit before we confirm this pregnancy. Bought the test kit - POSITIVE ( 2 clear lines now). Happy and worried at the same time. Booked an appointment with gynae in Feb cos dun want to waste $$ so early on checkup when there is nothing much to see. Hahaha....

Called up hospital to change appointment cos my tunny is getting sharp pain these 2 days. Better go check first as me worried about getting cyst during pregnancy or is the wound causing me the pain?? Changed appointment to 12 Jan 08.

12 Jan 08

Today is a busy day for us. I have gynae appointment at 1pm then colleague's house warming then family dinner in the evening.

Went to see my gynae at Ang Mo Kio Central - Dr Benjamin Tham. He's a nice doctor. Somehow, he will put you at ease with his attitude and looks. Haha. Anyway he told me that I am about 4-5 weeks pregnant so nothing much to see now. Just saw a sac and embryo through the scan monitor. Asked him about my pain, was told it could be due to stretching around tummy area but everything is ok.

Fixed another appointment 3 weeks later - 2 Feb 08. Doctor said might be able to see something by then. Hope to show Andy and Angeline their little Di Di or Mei Mei soon.

This is to celebrate his launch of his latest CD - 一支独秀. It was held at Bishan Junction 8 on 14 Dec 07. The event started at 7pm but I think the queue started the day before the actual event. We promised to bring Andy to see him and get his signature on the CD.

So we rushed down after work. By the time we reached there, it was around 7pm but the queue was all the way out of J8!!! He is so popular among all ages!!! Can't imagine that - I see babies, toddlers, young girls and boys and even aunties and uncles. Some aunties and uncles are not only holding on to his CDs but even posters and sign boards!!! With running lights!!!! WOW!

We thought that since the queue is so long, forget about it and we had our dinner at Sakae Sushi... But after dinner, we walked past the event area and we can see that Andy really wanted to join in the fun and wanted to have his CD signed too so we joined in the queue at 8pm.

By the time we joined the queue, we were queuing outside Subway! So long! By the time we reached outside macdonald, look at the time - 930pm!!! So tired :(

But we have queued for so long liao, give up half way also not happy. So we continued waiting... waiting...and waiting. By the time, we got up to the event area - time :1015pm. Yawn! Tired! Cannot give up again so we queued up to get near to the stage. By the time, we are on stage - time : 11pm and there are still hundreds of fans still waiting behind us.

What is the purpose of queuing up for hours just to get his signature on the cover, handshake with him, and that's all??? Andy thinks it's worthwhile for him cos he's hardly in love with 小猪.

PSLE!!!!

I thought December will be a relaxing month for me but it turned out to be a busy month for me....

Other than attending a concert with Andy and Regi....we have to collect PSLE results!!!! Finally the day has come - the most important day for Andy's 12th years of human. Though results wasn't that fantastic, he got only 182 and he's eligible for Normal Academic, we were quite pleased that at least he didn't failed any paper. He got 2 Bs and 2 Cs.

We enrolled him to a neighbourhood school - Woodgrove Secondary School. This school will take him only 2 minutes walk to the side gate. Haha... can you imagine how convenient school will be for him next year. He doesn't have to worry about waking up early, missing the bus to school, etc.

We spent about $350 on his new school books and uniforms. That's alot of money :( but if he can do well in this school, it's worth the money spent. He told us that he will try his best to get into express stream. Whether he can do it or not, we are happy that he's willing to give it a try. My baby boy has grown up... haha

He will be starting his new school term soon - 2nd Jan 08, I do hope that he will get used to this new environment and study hard. He will be going for his first secondary school camp on the 3rd Jan 08 and will be back on 5th Jan 08. I hope he will enjoy himself there and get to know some good friends - good characters and good influence to him.

Show On Stage Singapore 2007

I bought a ticket for my son to go for the concert on 1 Dec 2007 but in the end, both my hubby and I can't take it. Hands and hearts are itchy so we bought 1 pair of tickets for ourselves at the very last minutes...

Our seats are not the best of the best but it was great. We managed to have a good view of the whole show. I got my hubby to change seat with my son so that he can have a clearer view.

The show was FANTASTIC. Everyone is so happening - screamed and shouted his name, participated in the show - singing and dancing along with him.

We had a great time dancing and singing along with his other fans. My son who is so "in love" with him had a great time there. I am glad that he enjoyed himself on that night.

A new toy for mua....

Hey girls and women out there, hear me out. Save your money on trips to salons when you can create the hairstyles that you want yourself....

I bought this VS 9 in 1 curler & straighter last week at Watson's Vivocity. It costs my hubby less than $50 and you can create different hairstyles everyday and anyday. I can curl my hair using different sizes of curlers and I can straighten and crimp my hair too. Wow... FANTASTIC!!! I think I can save lots of money by investing in this new toy.

Of cos the downside is I have to wake up earlier to wash my hair, blow dry (it works on dry hair only) then I can style my hair the way I want. It may take a while to get used to it, but once you get your hands used to the twisting, curling, etc... you can get your hair done in less than 15 - 20 minutes.

Today I tried using the curlers (please apply mousse before styling your hair!) and the end product.... take a look at the pictures below to see for yourself!!! I like it very much. What do you think?

I don't think I will consider my little baby - Angeline as a woman yet. She's only 21 months old little girl but I must said that she is my pretty girl - our little princess!

I am not too sure if she will grow up, wanting to look pretty, put on makeup, wear high heels, etc... But I think she is trying to follow how I do things.

She will want me to put powder on her face when I am putting on my makeup for work. Not only foundation powder, lip gloss and even moisturiser.

When I go to shoe shop, she will take a pair (psst... she is interested in on adult shoes only, sometimes high heels) of shoes off the shelf and put her shoes at the side. And guess what, she slips her tiny feet into a "big" pair of shoes and asked us to see.

I am not too sure if I am setting a "good" example to you by wearing makeup, high heels, etc... but I think it's normal. Cos she will eventually grow up to be a pretty young lady.

A Trip to Marina South Pier

I am not too sure if anyone know this place. But me a "mountain tortoise" came down to this place without knowing that this pier is actually to replace the old Clifford pier when it ceased its operations since 1 April 2006.

It's another option for people who like to go to Marina South area. Other than the usual steamboat BBQ, we can choose to go for foodcourt at the 2nd level or step on board at Santa Fe All American Tex Mex Grill... (that's the ship on the picture.. first one on the right). Nice environment with friendly people on board. It's a different experience to sit in a ship and have your meal. Great!!!

As for the next 2 smaller pictures on thhe right, it shows the boat that ferries tourists and even locals to different islands - Kusu island, St John island, etc.. It's really a wonderful experience to be there and see a different side of Marina South.

I think we are a crazy family. Posing as shrek for 1 picture and now MONKEYS!!! We just want to have a good laugh after a day of hard work. I have been trying to compile all the photos that we took in the handphone but it seems impossible cos we are forever taking photos.

Even my Angeline is interested in taking photos using our handphone. Everytime she gets hold of our phones, she will start posing herself in front of the camrera. Otherwise she will pass it to us and wait for us to take it for her.

A Memorable Day - 25 Aug 07

This is a very memorable day. This is the day we sent my grandfather-in-law off - his last journey on earth.

It was a busy day so when I was in the bus travelling from one place to another place, I felt so bored and sleepy (I was awake from 5am!!!). Instead of falling asleep in the bus, I decided to make full use of the time to take some pictures.

Thanks to Reader's Digest contest, my son got a S$100 voucher from Singtel and a 6 month subscription free with any plan. I think the contest is about family so my son sent in a picture of her little sister and he won the prize!!! :)

So we went to Hello @ Takashimaya on 12 August 2007 to make full use of the vouchers. My son got a student plan but he's using my phone cos I don't want him to have a new phone. He's only a student and I don't think a new phone is advisable if he's bringing it to school everyday.

I used the discount voucher to get myself a new phone - Sony Ericsson W660i. Nice and sleek phone! I love it very much.

After getting the phone, I immediately took some photos with the phone! Clear... Very clear!

New Environment

I have worked for my current company for more than 1 month, I have been visiting clients all over the island.

I took some photos of some interesting places that I have visited during my 1 month of walking around....

I took this picture when I was travelling around ECP. I was on my way to Singapore Indoor Stadium.

This biggest ferris wheel, The Singapore Flyer, is the biggest you can find in Singapore and it will be completed in March 2008. Located in Marina Bay, you will be able to see Singapore city, from Changi Airport to Sentosa Island and also parts of Malaysia and Indonesia when you are at the top. Breathtaking view!!

The following pictures are taken when I was on my way to meet my client at Robertson Quay. Everytime I see this bridge when travelling in a car, I always wanted to take a closer look at this bridge. Colorful bridge really catches my attention.

This Alkaff Bridge was painted in vibrant colors by a Filippino artist Pacita Abadand and a team of rope specialists. This team used 52 different colors and more than 900 litres of industrial strength paint to turn a normal looking bridge into a colorful structure.

The next place has something to do with Singapore history. Located in Telok Ayer Street, Thian Hock Keng Temple is one of the oldest temple in Singapore.

This temple was erected in 1821 and it was a main point of dismbarkation for the early Chinese immigrants. These immigrants then offered their prayers of thanks to the main deity of the temple - Ma Cho Po (Mother of the Heavenly Sages) for protecting them during the sea journeys.

The next location is all about fun, sun and sand - Siloso Beach! I went there for a walk after an appointment at Underwater World in Sentosa! I haven't been to Underwater World before. Trust me, it's worth the money to go there for an interactive time with the fishes. You can even have your "pedicure" done by fishes for a reasonable amount. I even know that these fishes are called "Garra Rufa".

I haven't been to a beach for a long long time. I really enjoy every moment on the beach - the breeze, the sound of waves, the wind and the sand. A nice way to end a day of running around the city.

After leaving Sentosa before it turns dark, I passed by the latest shopping centre - Vivocity. I wonder if it's there for a reason. Maybe it's because of the next upcoming thing in Singapre - IR. If you have shop at Vivocity before, you will understand what I mean. All the shops are of high end brands. You know what I mean?

Over the weekend, we went to our friend's place to celebrate his baby girl's full month party and it's also a catch up session for the men who are buddies since school days.

Time flies.. It's Jason's 2nd kid. The girl is so cute! Big round eyes looking around when you carried her. So small compared to my mei mei... haha... surprise to both Regi and myself, she is not jealous ove this baby when I carried her. She wanted to "sayang" the baby too. :)

So cute seeing one baby touching the other baby...

After the party, we went shopping at Compass Point - first time to this place. Big shopping centre with lots of varieties. Great! There were having some toy fair at the atrium so Regi managed to get one Spider man toy. He's so happy :D

We bought some office attires at G2000 and had coffee at Starbucks. Quite relaxing for a weekend cos we hardly come out without having someone throwing his tantrums :P

A Trip to IKEA Tampines

On Saturday afternoon, Regi and I went down to IKEA Tampines to get some shelves for our kitchen and his "growing" collection of toys.

Of cos, when we were there, we won't forget to get some food. We had the usual favorites - meatballs and chicken wings. It's a wonderful feeling to eat in peace cos we went there without the kids. Haha...

We decided on 2 shelves - one for the kitchen (as planned) and one for his toy (which I regretted not getting one more for myself now)...... We planned to share the shelf but from the way he is organising his toys now.. I doubt I will have any space in the end :(

Look at the shelf now.... psst.. it's 3am now and my dear Regi is still unpacking his toys from the boxes. And PLEASE.... it's only 50% of his collection!!!!!!!

Can you imagine if he pick up all the rest of his collection from his mother's place??? I dun think another shelf will be enough for him lor...

Re-decorate my Living Room

On Friday night, my hubby and I decided to 're-decorate' our living room to suit our lifestyle and his growing collection of toys.

So we moved the dining table back to the old dining corner instead of putting it in the "dining room" so that we can fully utilised the room. So we moved away my girl's toys temporary (which I realised that she has too many toys) away to create more space for the movement for the other furnitures.

And we spent the whole night moving the sofa, TV console, dining table, coffee table, etc.... All together, we spent 3.5hours getting the right things at the right place with the help of my mum.

And the after effect.....

That's my dining table on the left, then my girl's play mat (excluding her toys) and the rest of my furniture. Right at the end of the living room is the balcony full of animals. Haha...there are 2 fish tanks and 3 cages of hamsters!!

Wow... the hamsters are growing in terms of numbers. We bought 2 hamsters and it gave birth to 10 hamsters in two batches. Now the first batch of the children gave birth to 4 little ones this evening.

A Day as Model

Last Friday, I helped my company to pose as model for our magazine. Though it was tiring but it was fun and I got paid for my service as the model. Nothing grand or fanciful. We are featuring some jewellery in our catalogue and magazine.

Let me share my favourite shots from the sessions..... psst... that's before the touch up. So pls bear with the horrible pictures, ok? I will show the effect of computer too.. that's after touch up. OMG.. I look so different!

Any comments on these pictures? Actually after looking at these pics then I realised I aged so much since the arrival of my girl. I look at least 35 years old. Sucks, right? Even my hubby agrees that I look old in picture and real person.... Thanks, dear. I appreciate your comment.

What to do? Gave birth to 2 children already. Lucky me, have yet to turn yellow..... huang lian po!!

But under the hands of my Creative Team.... my eye bags, dark circles, wrinkles, etc.... are missing. Maybe I should pass the post "operation" pics to a plastic surgeon and asked for the same face.

Pls take a look and spot the differences.

Somehow I feel that the pictures after touch up and modification doesn't look like me at all... :( I think I still prefer what I see in the mirror every morning. Sigh... sigh... Woman!

Gloomy weather = gloomy feeling??

Dunno why but I am feeling so gloomy and sad today. Just like the weather outside now. I think I am into my PMS mode now.

I just feel so lousy for no reason and it's a terrible feeling. I HATE this feeling! Just communicated with my ex HR manager, Angela thru emails. Told her my fear about losing this job and having to find other new jobs.

I have been sending resume but no response. Am I really that bad? I feel so terrible. No one wants me! Maybe I am just too useless.

Angela is nice enough to help me even though she has left this company. She understands my fear but she reminded me that nothing is more important than HEALTH and FAMILY. I totally agree with her.

I will keep on looking for a new job. Cos I am not too sure about my future or prospect in this current company. Whether or not, this company is going to renew my contract, I need to secure a job soon.

I hope everything will work out fine in the end. Maybe I should look at the positive side sometimes rather than the negative sides all the times. Maybe God has plans for me. Maybe I just have to wait for that to happen. WHATEVER!

Just have to keep a positive mindset.. I will keep reminding myself on that.

Started on Monday, I have been reaching office at 745am. Yes.. it's 745am!!! My official starting time is 9am :(

Meaning to say that I don't have enough sleep and I have been coughing for a week. Not recovering at all. Dunno what's wrong. Took some medicine but vomitted instead. Shit.. what's happening to me??

Anyway, it was raining on Tuesday morning only and the rest of the mornings were still ok. The rain with thunder caused traffic jams every way...

Sucks.. I hate traffic jam. I can't put on my make up whenever there is an traffic jam. Xian!!! What a nice weather to sleep in! But look at the time ~ 730am ! Hubby got to rush otherwise he will be late for work.

Finally I got into office and got myself a nice hot cup of coffee. Just too wonderful for this weather! I think I am having this coffee everyday :p

That's my office desk.. Forever messy and full of rubbish. I have my kids' photos to motivate myself. Toys sponsered by hubby. Contact lens solution in case eyes get itchy... What else do u see??

I think messy = working, right? People will know that you have been working very hard when they see a messy table?? I hope so too...

Anyway, I will be busy and packed from tomorrow. Yeah!! Busy and hope to enjoy myself too... Me having photo shoot for a catalogue on Friday. Going for a promotion at Mary Chia Ngee Ann City with mum. And also maybe a family day event in hubby's company.

New Bags for me!

After the last audition for Jean Yip, my bag finally decided to quit its job as my bag. I think my bag is overloaded with too much stress and load, just like any of us, and snapped.........

There's goes my bag. Maybe I have been putting too many "rubbish" in it, that's why my bag can't take my nonsense anymore. Maybe I should start clearing my brain first then I can decide what to put inside and what not to put inside....

Now I realised that I can't carry a bag for more than 6 months. Poor bags. But no choice, I have so many things to put inside - books, make up, wallets, keys, magazine, game set and ipod too. I need a bag that can take the weight of all the things.

So one day, I was looking thru Singapore online spree, I set my eyes on 2 bags. And it costs me less than $50 for both bags :D

Do u think these 2 bags are able to take my rubbish or do u think I won't be able to carry them for more than 6 months again?

Anyone can sugguest what can I do to reduce destruction of my bag??

My Little Girl ~ Angeline

I wonder if any parents will be worried about their kids. Will they grow up strong and healthy? How soon will they start talking and calling you "Mummy" or "Daddy"?

I kept worrying about my little girl since she was a baby. I wondered when she will start crawling? When will she start walking? When will she start talking? And many many other worries.....

One day she started crawling and we got so excited over it. In a short period of time, she started walking around the house. Everyone got so busy when she started walking. Afraid that she will knock against the table, afraid that she will knock against the corners of the walls when she falls. So many worries again :(

Now I am just waiting for the day that she will call me one day. Maybe when she wakes up in the morning, she will wake me up by calling me... maybe this and maybe that. Haha...

These days when I look at her, I realised that she has grown alot. She looks so different now. She looks like a young little little girl.

Just look at this picture. Does she look like a 15months old baby girl? I don't think so.

All I wish for now is the day for her to open up her mouth to start talking. Not ahahahahah.... not eheheheh.... not her baby talk but "real" words. I wish... I wish... I really wish for that day to happen soon.

Top Notes:

Middle, Heart or Soul Notes:
These describe the smells which emerge after the top notes dissipate, about 10 minutes exposure to oxygen and the skin. Base Notes:
Base notes are the smells that slowly develop and which will linger at the end of the day. Base notes are usually perceived after at least 30 minutes since initial application.
